Tankless water heaters are quickly becoming more popular with homeowners. Inc. with all of your tankless water heater installation and repair needs in Marietta. Take a look at our client testimonials to see what your neighbors have been saying about our work!
Tankless water heaters can be mounted on almost any wall inside or outside your home and they require no additional venting aside from a single intake and exhaust point that can either go up through your roof or horizontally through your wall. If your old water heater is gas-powered, our technicians can easily replace it with a gas-powered tankless unit. There are electric tankless water heater models available as well.
Why Invest in a Tankless Water Heater?
The idea of getting a new tankless water heater may seem unnecessary, especially if your old tank unit is still running just fine. However, older tank models are significant energy drains, whether they are gas or electric. They can double your energy bill each month.
These tank water heaters work by filling the tank with water, heating it, investing energy to keep the water hot, and then refilling the tank and beginning the process all over again when the hot water runs out. A lot of energy is needed to have a limited supply of hot water ready. This makes it inconvenient for your family to shower and do laundry at the same time because the hot water runs out faster.
Tankless water heaters, on the other hand, provide you with an endless supply of hot water at constant temperatures. You can even do your laundry and take a shower at the same time. Gas and electric tankless units work by creating hot water only when it is needed. It is a hot water on demand system.
As a result, your energy savings will improve. Having a tankless water heater installed can decrease your energy usage by up to 40 percent! Plus, tankless units last twice as long as their tank counterparts: with proper maintenance, they will run for over 20 years. Periodic maintenance includes checking the in-line screen filter for debris.
If your water heater is ten years or older and you know you will need a replacement soon, let our experienced Kennesaw water heater repair and installation technicians help install a tankless model. You’ll soon experience the savings and benefits!
Considerations for Tankless Water Heaters
The tankless water heater can provide endless showers and save energy while occupying less space than a traditional water heater. The luxury of taking a shower with endless hot water is a dream come true on a cold winter morning or after a rigorous workout. Consecutive showers aren’t a problem, either, because the tankless heater continues to provide hot water as long as it’s needed.
The tankless heater saves energy by heating water only when it passes through the appliance – only when it’s being used. Unlike conventional water heaters, there is no standing pilot and the unit does not need to maintain temperature.
Three issues determine the cost of installing a tankless water heater: the gas supply, venting requirements, and location.
Gas Supply & Venting
A tankless heater has different gas supply and venting requirements. A conventional heater might require 40,000 gas BTUs, compared to the tankless heater’s 190,000 BTUs. Because the tankless heater heats water as it’s needed, it requires more energy to heat the water quickly.
The gas supply for the heater might need to be increased to meet the new demand. While the vent for a conventional heater may be 3-4 inches, a tankless requires a 6-inch pipe with stainless steel insert.
Because of these limitations, we might not be able to install the tankless heater in the same place as the existing heater.
The size of a conventional water heater may require its own room or use a large portion of an existing room. Tankless units are mounted on the interior/exterior wall, allowing more storage space around the unit.
Important: Although water is heated instantly, that doesn’t mean hot water will arrive at the faucet immediately. Hot water still has to travel to the faucet. Depending on the unit’s location, you might have to wait for the hot water to arrive. There are ways to address the wait, but the solution might add to the installation cost. If you are currently waiting for hot water, a tankless heater will not improve your wait time, give us a call and we can discuss viable options that are available.
